Runner Duck Estate produces small quantities of iconic wines from perfect grapes each year and only for its cellar door and restaurant at Plume, Matakana.

Runner Duck Estate combines our true passions in life: family, lifestyle and premium wine.  Our sole objective is to produce a small amount of truly ‘iconic’ wine that is an enjoyable experience to taste. We have the the commitment to be completely uncompromising throughout the entire process. Unless the year is an outstanding one we simply will not produce wine under our label.

The 4 hectare boutique vineyard on Duck Creek Road in the Matakana appellation was planted in 2003. The vineyard comprises about 1.5 hectare of Syrah, one hectare in Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay, and smaller lots in Albariño, Malbec and Merlot, allowing Runner Duck Estate to produce small quantities of delectable red, white, rosé and Methode inspired wines for its restaurant and cellar door.  Another 0.2 hectare plot at Plume on Sharp Road produces a crop of Sangiovese. ...
