We are a self-funded, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to making the Matakana Coast the year-round, weekend and holiday destination of choice, for visitors from Auckland, Northland and beyond.

  • Website listings – Your business will be listed on the high traffic Matakana Coast website, offering relevant and time sensitive exposure as visitors plan their trips online. Our website is backed by a solid digital strategy to ensure we’re connecting with visitors in the most effective way.
  • A dedicated marketing manager – We have a dedicated marketing manager in charge of our cooperative marketing programme, with the goal of achieving sustained and consistent growth in visitor numbers from Auckland and Northland, as well as the wider New Zealand and international markets.
  • Collaborative marketing opportunitiesWe’re always looking for fresh ways to promote the region and linking members with targeted opportunities to showcase their businesses. We coordinate joint marketing opportunities and collaborations between members, including festivals and special events.
  • Coordination of Feast Matakana – We have successfully secured funding from Auckland Unlimited to promote and coordinate this special series of food and beverage-related events as part of Elemental Auckland.
  • Promotional material – We develop and distribute Matakana Coast promotional material, including print materials, social media and a monthly newsletter showcasing member businesses and upcoming events.
  • Representation at regional and national tourism events – We represent and advocate for the Matakana Coast within the wider tourism sector, ATEED, Auckland Council and central government and represent the region at large events such as conferences and showcases.
  • Media opportunities – We are actively engaged in media outreach and identifying advertorial opportunities, and we are frequently the first port of call for media inquiries. From time to time, we pitch, coordinate and host media visits to the region, planning itineraries, transporting the visitors and ensuring the widest possible coverage for the region and its tourism and hospitality operators. Members have benefited from coverage in publications like the NZ Herald, AA Travel Journeys, The Tasmanian and The Observer. 
  • Social media and banner advertising – Opportunities for banner advertising, video content, social media and newsletter features, for targeted exposure for your business.
  • Access to industry research and events – MCT is a member of Tourism Industry Aotearoa, which allows all MCT members to access industry research and attend TIA events.

    Best suited to medium-sized businesses working in the tourism sector for 3+ years. Ideal for medium-sized  hospitality operators, accommodation providers, small tour operators, attractions and retailers focused on the tourist market.  Inclusion in weddings section.

    • Advertising:
      • Discounted advertising on MCT website
